In the StarLab portable planetarium, we use a small "sky" projector to give an introduction to stars, constellations and motions on the sky. We have two StarLab domes. Our small dome requires floor space at least 18' x 21', and a height of 10.5'. It can seat about 2030 children at a time. The larger dome requires floor space of 24' x 27', with a height of 13.5', and can seat about 40 - 50 children. An adult will be required to accompany children inside. Telescope programs usually feature our portable 8 and 10 inch telescopes, through which participants can view the Moon, planets, star clusters, and other bright objects in the night sky.
These presentations are, of course, limited to afterdusk times, and are subject to weather and sky conditions. Solar telescope programs are also available.
