Event Details

Music Under the Domes’s first concert of the 2025-26 season starts with a program entitled Bold Dances, which is full of music that has life and incredible movement. It starts with graduate flutist Ty Gable performing Eugene Bozza’s Image for Solo Flute, and coached by Dr. Andree Martin. It’s subtitled Vento Appassionato (passionate wind) and features fantastically virtuosic playing that floats as it moves through the space. This is followed by the Valkyria Quartet playing Mendelssohn’s blazing first movement to his Quartet No. 6. Next up is the Piano Quintet No. 1, first movement, by Ernst Dohnanyi, a beautiful, powerful, and truly moving work played by terrific Schwob graduate students. We’ll conclude the program with a fiendishly difficult, yet truly colorful work by Maurice Ravel: his La Valse, in the hands of undergrad phenom pianist, Jungmin Park. This concert has wonderful music that will start our series off with fabulous charisma! Lance Tankersley will provide amazing designs on the Dome.

Reception at 5 pm with wine and cheese, and a 45-minute concert at 5:37 pm!
