Our second Music Under the Dome concert, entitled Synesthesia on the Dome features a number of prize-winning performers. The concert will begin with fabulous clarinetist Daniel Garcia performing Eric Mandat’s Sub(t)rains O’ Strata’sfears, a jazzy work with contemporary effects that require dazzling technique. Next is a series of pieces performed by Lizst Competition Winner Alexey Trushechkin including three etudes by Alexander Scriabin, two preludes by Sergiu Rachmaninov, and L’isle Joyeuse by Claude Debussy. Each work has a universe of color that Alexey will bring powerfully out of our amazing Yamaha Disklavier piano. The program will conclude with James Beckel’s Clouds of the Cosmos, played by our internationally acclaimed Schwob Trombone Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Bradley Palmer. Visual designs for this concert will be created by Jessica Mongeon, Assistant Professor of Art and Foundations Coordinator at Arkansas Tech University.
