LET’S EXPLORE EARTH
- Earth is a rocky world and the densest planet in the Solar System.
- Earth has a substantial iron core, which generates a magnetic field that protects us from space radiation.
- Earth is the water world. The Earth’s oceans cover 71% of its surface.
- Earth is Mostly Iron, Oxygen and Silicon. If you could separate the Earth into elements, you would find 32.1 % iron, 30.1% oxygen, 15.1% silicon.
- Earth’s Moon is the fifth largest moon in the solar system. The Moon is more than one-fourth (27%) the size of Earth, which is a much larger ratio (1:4) than other planets and their moons in our solar system.
- Earth is the only place in all the universe where we know for sure that life exists.
