Event Details

You’re invited to the Coca-Cola Space Science Center on Saturday, January 13th, for the first of our series of free Astronomy Nights in 2024!

We’ll begin at 6 p.m. in our Omnisphere Planetarium, with Dr. Rosa Williams pointing out current constellations and bright objects in the evening skies. Weather permitting, we will then move outside to telescopes on our South Lawn to view the dark skies thanks to the Moon being in a Waxing Crescent Phase. Other night sky objects such as: Saturn, Jupiter, Rigel, and Betelgeuse will also be visible. The tail end of the Quadrantid meteor shower may be visible if high enough over our horizon. See our WestRock Observatory and ring in the new year. Just make sure to bundle up for the cold weather for this 🆓 viewing!
